During the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, we found out all the news about Samsung Galaxy S24including the fact that it will exploit the Google’s AI at its best. A confirmation of the partnership between Samsung and Google, but also a demonstration of the fact that artificial intelligence will increasingly play a leading role in the smartphone world.
Google AI makes Samsung’s new Galaxy S24 smarter
The collaboration between Google Cloud and Samsung promises Galaxy S24 users all the features of artificial intelligence Gemini. Those who buy the new smartphones will take advantage of Gemini Pro to power apps like Notes, Voice Recorder and Keyboard.
Gemini Pro will use AI to record with Voice Recorder and get a summary quickly. The advanced technology of text-image diffusion, Imagen 2, integrated into the Galaxy S24 Gallery app, it will offer more advanced photo editing features.
The Galaxy S24 series will also take advantage Gemini Nano, with advanced features for Google Messages. For example, you can use Magic Compose, which allows users to create unique messages in different styles. This way you can change the text of an email to your boss to be more formal, or a post on Threads to be more fun.
Then there is photomoji, to create custom emojis with generative AI. AND Voice Moods for more personalized messaging.
Additionally, Samsung will be among the first partners to test Gemini Ultrathe largest model designed for highly complex tasks.
The new Circle to Search feature
The functionality Circle to Search It seems to us to be one of the most interesting applications for searching on Android. Just use your finger (or the Galaxy S Pen) to circle a detail of an image and search for it on Google. And the same goes for the text too. The functionality arrives not only for the Galaxy S24, but also for Google smartphones: Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, starting from January 31st.
In addition to existing features, such as asking questions out loud in your own tone of voice, finding the name of a song through singing, or searching for objects using Lens, comes another way to search for information. Just circle, highlight, scribble and get the context you need.
Plus, you can combine the camera and the Google app for multi-search: you can ask complex questions about what you see in the camera’s viewfinder. Google will combine the two inputs to leverage AI in search. Google gave us this example: you can photograph a boxed game (but without the box with the title) and ask “how to play?”. The search engine combines image and text searches to give you an answer.
Google Messages and Android Auto Powered by AI
There’s also news coming Android Autowhich uses AI to automatically summarize long texts or busy group chats while driving. The platform also suggests relevant responses and actions, to stay connected without distracting you from the road.
Furthermore, Android Auto does will sync with Samsung Galaxy phone, ensuring a smooth transition between the phone and car experience. It will reflect some design elements, such as the background and icons.
This year, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series not only offers new hardware, but takes advantage of Google AI to make using Android smartphones easier. We can’t wait to test these new features. What do you think about it? Which one seems the most interesting? Let us know in the comments.
