Is Twitter destined to disappear? This is the question that many users ask themselves when faced with the latest news regarding the social network of chirps. A question that has actually hovered around the platform since the acquisition by Elon Musk. In fact, it seems that Musk has in mind to change twitter name to X.
A hypothesis also fueled by the latest tweets, in which the tycoon has repeatedly referred to the social network as “X/Twitter”.
After all, the X is a practically omnipresent letter in Elon Musk’s life. Just think of Space X or a X.com, an online banking company that later merged with Confinity to create PayPal. It should be noted, however, that Twitter is currently owned by the company X Corpmanaged by Elon Musk himself.
Elon Musk’s plans: Twitter could change its name to X
According to Wired, Musk’s goal would be to create a kind of western WeChator an app that allows users not only to communicate with each other, but also to carry out various types of financial transactions (from paying bills to buying train tickets).
At the moment it is not clear when this small revolution will take place, nor if it will be positively received by the public. In fact, unlike the Chinese, Western users don’t seem very attracted by the idea of using a single app to manage their finances and interests. And above all they don’t seem to trust Elon Musk too much.
