On the occasion of World Television Day, Samsung Electronics Italia presented the results of the new Social Poll “TV? I like you!” which involved the Instagram community, collecting over 2,800 responses.

An updated photograph on the role emerges of the TV inside homes as a reflection of habits most widespread and the parameters that guide consumers during the purchasing phase.

In some cases, the answers confirm known data that do not seem to fade with time and the change of generation, while others open unexpected scenarios on new ways of interacting with the TV.

World TV Day, its constant presence in the home

The first aspect to emerge is theomnipresence of the TV in the home. Il 40,6% of the respondents, in fact, declared that they own a TV in every room. A good part (36%) he claimed to have two where the second, as easily imaginable, is dedicated to the bedroom where you can enjoy yourself moments of relaxation in front of a film. Almost one in four users says they preferred a single, large TV, the real one protagonist of the living room (23%).

The real surprise, perhaps, comes from the answers regarding what users love about their TV, which also track new usage habits such as, for example, gaming. For almost 30% of the sample, TV is in fact the perfect gaming partner, to confirm what has gone from being a passion for a few to becoming increasingly widespread and shared.

Next, the 27,3% declare instead of appreciate big screens, also to encourage the use of streaming content with the whole family. Almost at parity, for the 26,4% it’s a question of design, a sign that the television is also acquiring more and more importance as a furnishing element. Finally, the 16,8% puts it at the center l’audioto enjoy an immersive experience like that of the cinema at home.

When do you watch TV?

And when you watch TV? Most of the community has no doubts: TV = relax in the evening in front of a film (65.8%)but there are also those who prefer to use it to find out about the news (18.6%) and those who keep it on almost constantly, like sound accompaniment while carrying out other activities (15,5%).

Advanced performance and reliability mean you don’t have to change your TV often: 70.8% change it when it is irreparably compromised and not working. There are also those interviewed (20.6%) who say they indulge five year ultimatum before a new purchase towards a more innovative model while a niche of lovers of the latest innovations who can’t wait to replace the TV with the latest top of the range (8.5%).
