Starting July 6, subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate e Game Pass Console they will suffer a subscription price increase. Not only that: one is coming too price increase for the Xbox Series X consolewhich could cost as much as the PlayStation 5.
However, nothing should change for the PC Game Pass subscription and for the Xbox Series S console.
Price increase for Xbox Game Pass: how much will it cost from July?
Starting July 6, in Italy, the monthly price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass for PC and Console), will go up from the current 12.99 euros to 14.99 euros. The monthly price of Xbox Game Pass for consoles, on the other hand, will go from 9.99 euros to 10.99 euros. PC Game Pass will remain unchanged at 9.99 euros per month.
However, there is good news, or at least a detail that sweetens the pill: the price increase will only affect new subscribers. Old users will be able to continue recharging their subscription at standard prices until 13 September. Starting from that date, the new price list will be the same for everyone.
As far as consoles go, the Xbox Series S will keep its list price 299,99 euro. The price of the Xbox Series X, however, will increase by 50 euros starting August 1st. In Europe, the price of the console it will go from 499.99 euros to 549.99 eurospractically the same as the PS5, which had already raised its list price in August 2022.
The announcement was made by Kari Perez, head of communications for Xbox, in a statement reported by The Verge. Perez explained that the price increase is due to the competitive conditions of the market, stating that the rise has nothing to do with the Activision-Blizzard affair.
