Xbox Series X: more performing chip coming?

Xbox Series X has been launched for several months now, and it seems that its improved version could be announced soon, perhaps during a Microsoft event next 2022: according to a new video from the well-known insider Brad Samswho is currently the vice president and general manager of Stardock Software, Microsoft is working on a more efficient chip for the console.

Xbox Series X: a console with a more performing chip coming?

Sams explained the following on YouTube:

“I know Microsoft was working on revisions of the chip. Now, we will certainly see performance improvements, but is there anything else to come as well? I don’t think so, but Microsoft is always working to create cooler and more efficient chips because that reduces manufacturing costs. I think it’s true that Microsoft is working on a smaller, more energy-efficient chip. I am very confident ”.

It’s unclear if the Xbox Series X’s exterior design will change. Smaller and more efficient chips reduce costs, so this may just be an internal review, indeed realistically speaking it is very likely that it will. However, if the console needs to be cooled less, we may soon see a smaller Xbox Series X, just to give an example.

Just recently, at a specialty retailer, a never-before-seen white Xbox Elite controller was spotted. It therefore appears that Microsoft has some hardware-related announcements to make in the coming months but only time will tell if there is indeed a new version of Xbox Series X in the works in the company’s future.
