In Xiaomi it’s time to open a bottle of champagne and celebrate the new success. Strategy Analytics analysts ranked Xiaomi ranks first in terms of the number of 5G smartphones shipped in the Central and Eastern European market in the third quarter of this year. His share was an impressive one 41,8%, surpassing Apple and Samsung in the European 5G smartphone market.
Xiaomi is first in the 5G smartphone market in Europe
To understand Xiaomi’s success in conquering the 5G smartphone segment, just consider that a year ago the company share was 4.3%. Analysts predict that Xiaomi will become a leader in Central and Eastern Europe by the end of 2021. Furthermore, no one will be able to push it off the top of the 5G smartphone market in this territory in 2022. Experts agree that success of Xiaomi may be dictated by the fall of Huawei, as well as the release of models such as Xiaomi Mi 11 e Redmi Note 9T 5G.

The second place is occupied by Apple with a 26% stake and thanks to the iPhone 12 line. The top 3 is closed by Samsung, whose share in the third quarter of this year was11,5%, three times lower than the previous year (34.3%). The fourth place of Realme can be considered a success: controlling 7.9% of the 5G smartphone market in Central and Eastern Europe. For comparison, a year earlier, its share was only 0.9%. Also OnePlus is in the top five with 5G devices accounting for 2.5% of the market, which is 1.8% less than the previous year.

“Xiaomi is expected to maintain its leadership in the Central and Eastern Europe region for the whole of 2021. And it will remain the leader in shipping 5G smartphones in 2022,” he says. Yiwen Wu, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics. “Xiaomi is taking advantage of Huawei’s absence, as well as its own portfolio of high-quality affordable 5G smartphones such as the Redmi Note 9T 5G and Mi 11 5G.”
