The Suicide Squad – new effort by James Gunn and tenth film of the DCEU – wins 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, convincing most of the critics. To see it in Italy, you have to wait until August 5th.
While fans try to figure out if the new The Suicide Squad either a reboot or a sequel to the 2016 film of the same name, James Gunn everyone agrees.
His personal version of the adventures of one of the most iconic and ramshackle groups in comics gets the score of the 100% su Rotten Tomatoes.
The director does not place himself in any continuity with the previous film, creating a ‘autonomous work and exaggerated, exactly in his style. And, apparently, the result is more than satisfactory, if even the critics – always ready to turn up their noses in front of cinecomics – were won over by The Suicide Squad. The judgment, in fact, is based on 46 Reviews of experts. The public will have to wait for the August 5 – at least in the United States and Italy – to enjoy the film at the cinema.

The flop of 2016, therefore, seems to be only a distant memory. Having won the Oscar for Best Makeup, the film soon fell into oblivion. It is therefore understandable that the DC wanted to propose again The Suicide Squad, through an adaptation entrusted to one of the most visionary directors in the cinecomics panorama. We remember in fact that James Gunn led the de saga to success Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel, and has promised that his new film is even more raw and irreverent.

The official synopsis of the film promises sparks and madness:
Welcome to Hell – aka Bell Reve, the prison with the highest death rate in the United States of America. Where are the worst super-villains kept, who will do anything to get out of it – even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die task? Putting on a gang of outsiders, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and leave them (literally) on the remote island, overrun by enemies, of Corto Maltese.
In addition to the plot, the film is ready to conquer fans also thanks to its incredible cast: Idris Elba (Bloodspot), John Cena (Peacemaker), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Jai Courtney (Capitan Boomerang), Peter Capaldi (Thinker), Silvester Stallone (in the original version he lends his voice to King Shark). But the names of Margot Robbie e Viola Davis, which take up the role – respectively – of Harley Quinn e Amanda Waller.
We just have to wait for the August 5 to see if the public will also be won over by The Suicide Squad.
