As we were told in a press release, publisher Wired Productions and development teams Oiffy and Wolf & Wood are proud to announce that their latest effort, which goes by the name of The Last Worker, will participate in the Venice Film Festival.
When we talk about The Last Worker, we must know that this is a narrative adventure, due out in 2022, focused on the difficulties we encounter in an increasingly automated and dehumanizing world. Well, it seems that The Last Worker, developed by Wolf & Wood and published by Wired Productions, has been selected for the 78th Venice International Film Festival, which will be held between 1 and 11 September.

The play was nominated for the Leone d’Oro in the VR Expanded category. The first chapter of The Last Worker will therefore be presented in world premiere during the Venice festival to the jury and accredited guests of the festival on Oculus Quest / Oculus Quest 2. It is of the only video game among the 23 nominations. The title is the work not only of the development team, but also of the writer and director Jörg Tittel. In this regard, Tittel himself has publicly declared his enthusiasm for the nomination:
I’ve always dreamed of one of my stories coming to the Biennale, but who expected it would be a virtual reality game! It’s wonderful that the oldest film festival is at the forefront of celebrating the future of storytelling. There is no better place to present the world and the characters we have created

For a small team like ours it is great to participate in such a prestigious festival. The hand-drawn style of The Last Worker reflects the talent and creativity with which each has contributed to the creation of this multifaceted world. Of course, the invitation to compete in the Venice race scares us a little, but it’s also very exciting and I’m really proud of all the work the team has done to get here.
