Xiaomi announced on the Chinese social media Weibo the release date of its next smartphone called Mi Mix 4: it will be there August 10. And this looks like a veiled declaration of war on a famous rival, as Xiaomi will present its smartphone just one day before Samsung’s Unpacked event on August 11th.

The ad doesn’t contain many details other than saying the Mi Mix 4 it is “the ideal of technology” and “dedication to aesthetics” (according to an automatic translation of the post written in Chinese). We can, however, take a look at the previous Mi Mix smartphones to see what we can expect.

This line of smartphones is typically where Xiaomi allows its designers to think outside the box. For example, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha anticipated in 2019 it was basically a smartphone consisting only of a screen; while the Mi Mix 3, launched in 2018, was a phone with tiny bezels and a slide-out selfie camera.
Furthermore, previous rumors indicate that Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 could be the first Xiaomi smartphone with a camera actually under the display.
