EGO is one of the first companies to revolutionize the world of outdoor battery powered devices. Today we are going to tell you about a truly fantastic power inverter!
EGO is a very popular company for its electrical devices for home and / or professional use. The first devices were presented in 2012 in the United States and in 2014 they also arrived in Europe. Initially, users welcomed them with a lot of skepticism because it seemed unlikely that an unknown brand could produce lawn mowers, brushcutters, chainsaws and other garden accessories by eliminating petrol power and using only the power of a electric battery. In a few years, however, EGO has established itself as undisputed technology leader for high performance outdoor cordless equipment.
Today we want to talk to you, therefore, about a really curious product because it stands as a worthy replacement for all the gasoline electric generators that have been presented as the only option for years. It is, in fact, a power inverter with a thousand uses and incredible versatility. Here is our review.

Unboxing and design | EGO Power + Nexus Escape Review
The sales packaging of EGO Power + Nexus Escape is very simple and attractive. Inside a black cardboard box enriched with the prints of the technical specifications of the device and high-definition images of the product, we find all the necessary manuals, the charging stand, the support with all the sockets equipped with a comfortable handle for transport and, inside another box, the powerful 56 V battery. The design of EGO Power + Nexus Escape is as simple and elegant as possible and this is already a great reason to love him. We really appreciate when a brand decides to make it easy to use a device that has a lot of technology inside it even for those who are approaching this kind of products for the first time.
Once you open the box, in fact, you will find three elements totally separate from each other in which a small trolley and three metal connectors stand out. One of them is black, has a socket and has three slots in the center, you understand well that is the charging stand. Another is black and green, has a power button, has three metal connectors and an explicit inscription “56 V lithium-ion, 2.5 Ah”: this is the powerful battery that fits into the charging stand to be charged . Finally another is gray and green with a black handle, a power button, two USB-A ports and one dam Schuko 150W. Underneath there are three metal connectors which are used to snap into the battery. In short, everything is quite immediate and quick to use.
Main features and functionality | EGO Power + Nexus Escape Review
The EGO Power + Nexus Escape works with the EGO 56V battery line, allowing users to get the most out of both an AC outlet and two USB ports that give versatility and deliver 150 Watts of power. The Nexus weighs just 0.53kg, making it a portable and lightweight addition to batteries. A on / off button it is used to manage all its power and through the convenient LEDs it is possible to understand when it is on (green light) and when there is a problem (red light). There large 2.5 Ah battery (there are also 5.0, 7.5 and 10-0 Ah versions) which normally powers a chainsaw, in this case it allows you to power a 42 “TV for about 3 hours, charge a laptop 3-4 times and charge a smartphone 11-13 times. Or you can run a fan or a small refrigerator when you are camping.
The charging stand can be really used everywhere because it is equipped with small silent fans which cool the battery (and the stand itself) during charging, so as to avoid overheating problems. Also in this case you can observe the charging status both through a crown of 5 LED present in the power button of the battery (indicate the 5 states of charge and flash when recharging or discharging) both by two small LEDs, one red and one green, present on the charging stand: when the green flashes it means that the charge is going well, when it is steady green it means that the charging process has finished, when the red flashes it means that the battery has problems and when the red is solid it means that the temperature is too high. In any case, despite the great power of the battery, the charge is very fast: it reaches from 0 to 100%, with a normal domestic socket, in just about 1 hour and a half.

We also tested the device as ups living in an area that tends to suffer from energy losses very often. Its activation is immediate as soon as there are even small voltage drops and its great power allows you to use the most delicate, sensitive and functional appliances even for many hours in case the blackouts should last for a long time.
The best you can find on the market
In conclusion, EGO Power + Nexus Escape is a incredibly versatile, powerful device with a truly excellent value for money. Ease of use is its biggest selling point because it can truly be used by anyone for any occasion. From the construction point of view it is a sturdy and resistant tank, but its overall weight demonstrates how great care has been taken in the choice of materials and the balance of components. In short, you could hardly find better and it is certainly the best possible alternative to the classic petrol inverters.
