Further bad news for CD Projekt Red: Cyberpunk 2077’s Lead Gameplay Designer has recently resigned after 8 years of work
The problems for CD Projekt Red don’t seem to want to end in any way. After the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which caused so much sensation that Sony has to remove it from the PlayStation Store, it will be a long and steep climb for the company to recover even a minimum of the lost trust. Update 1.2 is in the works these days and will arrive by the end of the month, this is true, as it is also true that the guys at CD Projekt are doing whatever it takes to improve their product. Despite all the post-launch problems, including numerous class actions, Cyberpunk 2077 remains a success from a sales point of view and we, despite everything, particularly liked it. Find out why in our review.
In the past few hours, via a Tweet on his personal page, Andrej Zawadzki, Lead Gamepaly Designer of the CD Projekt Red title, has announced that he has quit after nearly eight years at the company. The Tweet can be found below and is simply a small message of thanks to all those he has met over the years, and saying that now the “time for a new adventure” has come. We do not know what it can refer to, but surely it is yet another blow to the delicate balance in which the company finds itself.
After almost 8 years, my time at CDPR has come to an end. It’s time for the new adventure.
To every person I’ve met on the way – thank you 🙂 It was an honor and pleasure.
See you around 🙂 pic.twitter.com/Hts3TE9VzW– Andrzej Zawadzki (@ZawAndy) March 22, 2021
Cyberpunk 2077: who is Zawadzki, the Lead Gameplay Designer of the CD Projekt Red title
Zawadzki began working on CD Projekt Red as a QA Tester and, over time, participated in the creation of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Later, in 2016, he began taking on the role of junior gameplay designer in Cybperunk 2077 and then rank up to senior gameplay designer in March 2020.
The death of the Lead Gameplay Designer of Cybperunk 2077 will probably not mark the company’s work much over the next few months, but it is yet another news that undermines, albeit partially this time, its image.
