Through a press release, Microids showed two new trailers of Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases, a dev diary and a gameplay with everything we need to know before playing it
Microids is literally stealing the show in children’s titles. From Marsupilami to The Smurfs, passing to more committed productions such as Beyond to Steel Sky, the company seems not to want to stop announcing, publishing and developing titles that, although they certainly do not have us old buzzards as targets, know how to get more than a laugh from the smaller. Through a press release, the company showed del new video material on the newly announced Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases, an adventure title with investigative elements developed by the Balzing Griffin studio on the occasion of Agatha Christie’s birthday. The game will be available from next September 28 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch and will be backwards compatible on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.
The protagonist will be a very young Hercule Poirot, who we will follow in one of its first cases, before he became the legendary detective we all know by now. Microids has released two new trailers for the game, which we leave you both in the body of the text. The first is a dev diary, very detailed and that we will summarize together in the next paragraph. The second, on the other hand, is a gameplay trailer which summarizes everything there is to know about the title, with gameplay footage and comments from the authors. We leave this to you just below.
Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases is shown with two new trailers
In the dev diary talking are Neil McPhillips and Justin Alae-Carew, both key figures in the development of the game, who explain how they managed to create a real original and authentic “Hercule Poirot Experience”. The gameplay perfectly shows how the intent of the developers was to recreate an intense investigative experience, with a narrative fully integrated into the game mechanics. The story will develop into chapters, just like in the classic Poirot novels, and will allow you to immerse yourself in the detective’s psyche thanks to the mind map system.
From a screenwriting point of view, the creation of a convincing murder case was achieved thanks to the contribution of the studio’s television and film writers, in close collaboration with the designers. However, to offer a totally new and original version of the historic detective, Blazing Griffin has decided to set the game in his youth, when his name was not known to anyone and, therefore, he would have had to fight to make his voice heard, but also in a world that was drastically changing for socio-economic reasons.
