Season 2 of War of the Worlds is coming to Disney + today

The second season of War of the Worlds debuts today on Disney +. The series, a US-French co-production, is the most recent adaptation of the novel of the same name by HG Wells. Here you can find the trailer for the first season.

When a group of astronomers intercepts a transmission from another galaxy, it is now certain that other forms of extra-terrestrial life exist. The whole world is waiting with bated breath for a first contact, but it won’t have to wait long. The peoples of the Earth have no idea what awaits them. A devastating attack is on the way, destined to wipe all life from the face of the planet. While humanity awaits the unfolding of events, the scenario soon becomes catastrophic. The Earth is slowly being invaded by aliens and the human race is in danger of extermination. There are very few survivors and they will have to try to stay alive by seeking a safe haven in a new reality dominated by aliens.

War of The Worlds is a story of ordinary people who face extraordinary circumstances, discovering that they are more than just victims of an alien attack.

What do we know about the second season (SPOILER!)

Humanity was almost wiped out by the alien attack of the first season the few survivors must find a way to resist. Emily has discovered a strange connection with aliens and an excruciating doubt begins to grow in her: Are aliens actually humans? Surviving, however, remains the last form of hope for the future and many are also ready to take extreme gestures to try to move forward. Find the trailer for the second season here.

The series is based on the science fiction and apocalyptic novel by HG Wells set in the present day and produced by CANAL + and Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa. War of the Worlds is produced by Howard Overman with Julian Murphy (Demons, Merlin) and Johnny Capps (Merlin, Crazyhead) for Urban Myth Films. The cast includes Gabriel Byrne, Daisy-Edgar Jones, Elizabeth McGovern e Bayo Gbadamosi. Given the success that the series is enjoying, the production of a third season, scheduled for 2022, has been confirmed.
