Samsung e Huawei were among the first companies to launch foldable smartphones on the market and currently, the South Korean giant is the leader in the category with several devices on the market. Many other device manufacturers like OPPO e Vivo they have been working on their foldable smartphones for some time and it seems that they are preparing to officially launch their products on the market.
Foldable smartphones: are OPPO and Vivo ready?
Since Xiaomi has already launched its Mi MIX Fold earlier this year, it is now time for OPPO and Vivo to launch their foldable smartphones. Both brands have unveiled interesting concept phones in the past, but they have yet to officially release their foldable phones.
Now, a new report coming from Digital Chat Station claims that OPPO foldable smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset while Vivo device will be powered by upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset.
Recently, it has also emerged that OPPO’s foldable phone will have an internal fold design with a display OLED 7.8 inch to 8 inch, which offers a screen resolution of 2K + pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Rumored to have a 50MP Main camera Sony IMX766 on the back and a 32 MP front camera. Unfortunately, we have no precise information regarding Vivo’s plans.
Meanwhile, Motorola has launched two folding smartphones on the market, taking a different approach in terms of design than the other models available from other companies. The one with the license plate Motorola in fact it was the first folding smartphone to adopt a clamshell design, however there is no information on the third folding device of the brand.
In short, it seems that the folding could be the future of mobile devices, but to find out we just have to wait.
