Kimi Räikkönen has selected Stelvio for its Q4 all-wheel drive system, which guarantees Alfa Romeo driving pleasure even in the harshest conditions of the Nordic countries
After the sporting season, Alfa Romeo remains alongside Kimi Raikkonen. The Italian brand has in fact delivered to the Finnish champion one Stelvio Veloce 2.0 Turbo Petrol 280 HP AT8 Q4. Distinguished by the Alfa Red livery and configured personally by the champion, the car will be his traveling companion during the period away from the spotlight of the F1 world championship and will accompany him in complete safety thanks to the all-wheel drive with Alfa Q4 technology. Arnaud Leclerc (Alfa Romeo Brand Manager for the EMEA region) stated:
Once a very intense sporting season has been filed, it’s time to switch off and dedicate yourself to your family affections. Also this year Kimi, together with Antonio obviously, gave us strong emotions. We have supported him and have been close to him during every single GP. And we continue to do so aboard the Stelvio that Kimi has personally configured. A choice that makes us feel close-knit, waiting for a new exciting season.
Kimi Räikkönen chooses Stelvio for his life away from the circuits
A snowy straight or a curve in pouring rain. These are all “daily challenges” in the Nordic countries, situations at the limit to test the agility and power of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. To face them in the best possible way, the world champion Räikkönen will be able to count on the innovative Alfa Romeo Q4 system, the efficient all-wheel drive with Q4 technology that ensures all the benefits of all-wheel drive and, at the same time, guarantees reduced fuel consumption, responsiveness and all the driving pleasure of a rear-wheel drive car.
The beating heart of the system is the active torque sharing system (active transfer box or ATC) which monitors in real time the grip conditions and the rider’s requests to always guarantee the best performance by transferring in less than 150ms, if necessary, up to 50% of the drive torque to the front wheels through a differential extremely compact and light front. The torque distribution between the front and rear axles is therefore continuously modulated with extreme precision according to the actual traction conditions and the driver’s controls: this translates into class-leading control of the car in terms of traction and directional stability when cornering. .
Kimi Räikkönen will therefore be able to put his Stelvio Veloce 2.0 Turbo Petrol 280 HP AT8 Q4 to the test in any situation that the snow-covered lands of Finland will give him. Not to mention that theFast set-up it represents the maximum expression of sportiness of the range, both in the exteriors (specific bumpers, dark miron finishes, exclusive alloy wheels) and in the interiors where sports leather seats with adjustable side bolsters and sports leather steering wheel with aluminum shift paddles stand out. All enriched by the new Alfa Connect 8.8 ″ MultiTouch, the brand new 7 ″ TFT instrument panel and the new ADAS assistance systems and level 2 autonomous driving which amplify the driving emotions and the centrality of the driver. The pilot stated:
After a busy 2020 season, it’s time to get back to everyday life with your family. However, I do not intend to give up the pleasure of driving, and the choice of Stelvio Veloce 2.0 280 HP with Alfa Q4 all-wheel drive guarantees me that I can do it in absolute safety, even on the snowy scenarios of Finland.
