According to some rumors, the next premium tablet from Samsung, or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, will present a notch frontale. The notch, made famous by the iPhones, made a comeback last week, when Apple unveiled the new MacBook models that host it and it seems that Samsung intends to insert this design element in turn.
Will Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 have a front notch?
The leading Korean company in the telephony sector seems to have clear ideas, according to the rumors that are currently circulating on the net. Just like Apple’s computers, Samsung’s tablets should also leverage the touch-free space to house the selfie camera and, probably, a face recognition system, the latter for now absent on MacBooks.
The source, well known on Twitter as OnLeaks, provided more information about the device, speaking of a 8 megapixel sensor, 14.6-inch Amoled display with 120 Hz refresh rate, two 13 and 5 megapixel cameras on the back and the presence of the S Pen, with magnetic strip for rear fixing. As for the power supply, however, the device should have one 12,000 mAh battery with 45W charging support. It is currently unclear whether Samsung will offer the adapter in the box or will exclude it, continuing with the strategy implemented with the latest models introduced on the market.
OnLeaks seems confident that the tablet will be equipped with a processor Exynos 2200 or a Snapdragon 888, 8 or 12 GB of RAM, 128, 256 or 512 GB of storage and four AKG-branded speakers. There will be the version with only Wi-Fi connectivity and the one with the slot for mobile cards, probably also with 5G plans.
Still a total mystery surrounds the release date of Galaxy Tab S8, which in theory should not be very far, considering that the previous family of Tab S7 and S7 + was presented in August 2020, followed by the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite of May 2021.
