A few weeks after its arrival on shelves around the world, a playable demo of Metroid Dread, the new chapter of Nintendo’s famous sci-fi saga, is finally available. If the new adventure of Samus Aran intrigued you but you still had some doubts about it, now you can finally try a short fragment of the story completely free, before deciding whether to proceed with the purchase or not.

After the excellent launch which took place last 8 October exclusively on Nintendo Switch consoles, now Metroid Dread receives a free playable demo, available immediately on the console’s eShop. This new chapter of the series, is the direct sequel to that Metroid Fusion originally launched in 2002 on the Game Boy Advance, and aims to conclude the narrative arc originally started in 1986 with the very first chapter for the NES. Fans had to wait almost two decades for this new installment of the series, but it seems it was worth it as Dread is already a sales success, and was rated as one of the best launches of the series in the UK (even surpassing the success of Metroid Prime 3 Corruption). The demo published will cover a short fragment of the adventure, and will allow you to try the gameplay and game mechanics firsthand. So if you are still hesitant, now you have no more excuses to try the title for free.
