Finally Knockout City, the EA game that takes the main mechanics of dodgeball and makes them a video game, is ready to make the most of the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S consoles thanks to the next gen update coming on November 2. In the title settings, players will be able to choose between performance and quality modes, allowing to reach a resolution in 4K fino a 120 FPS.
All the details on the Knockout City next gen update
Below we can see specifically the difference between the quality and performance mode for each console:
- PS5: 4K nativo a 60FPS o 1440p (upscaling a 4K) a 120FPS
- Xbox Series X: 4K nativo a 60FPS o 1620p (upscaling a 4K) a 120FPS
- Xbox Series S: 1440p a 60FPS o 1080p a 120FPS
The development team Velan Studios states that players can expect a “richer graphics experience” on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S thanks to the Knockout City next-gen update. “We have improved our lighting with the added power of next-generation consoles, adding features such as new area lights, ball lights, particle lights, improved global illumination and local light shadows, ”the studio said. Also confirming that each of these additional sources gives the environment more reactions to how the light illuminates paths or casts shadows.
The news does not end there, even the textures have improved. High-fidelity textures were previously only available on PC and Xbox One X, but will expand to PS5 and Xbox Series X | S with the update. “This subtle change creates a more realistic environment, with ‘touchable’ surfaces that you can almost pass your hand over as you whiz past your opponent.” You can see a comparison below.
