The Burj Khalifa, one of the most famous and recognizable skyscrapers of mondo, starred last Sunday in a special 3-minute version of the trailer for Arcane, Riot’s new animated TV series.
The trailer spanned all 828 meters and 160 floors of the tallest building in the world, showing key themes and characters from the show, less than a week before the World Premiere.
Arcane, the first TV series by Riot, will debut Sunday, November 7 on Netflix. The show’s premiere will be at the center of a global celebration for League of Legends players and fans, combining the 2021 League of Legends World Championship, an event that drew 49.45 million contemporary international viewers last year., with the first Riot TV show. Competition, entertainment and play will be merged in a whole new way to best satisfy Riot’s global fanbase.
Set in the world of League of Legends, Arcane is about the delicate balance between the wealthy city of Piltover and the slums of Zaun. Many call it “the city of progress” and it is home to many of Runeterra’s brightest minds, but the creation of Hextech, which allows everyone to control magical energy, threatens this balance. Though Arcane tells the stories of the champions of League of Legends, the series is created to be a complex world in its own right filled with moral decisions, breathtaking animations and compelling moments.
