The Steam Deck, new portable console announced by Valve a few months ago, has been postponed. As announced in these hours by the company, known for the popular Steam store, a real reference for gaming on PC, the deliveries of the first units of Steam Deck will not arrive by Christmas 2021. It will be necessary to wait until next year to be able to start play with the new console (for those who have already pre-ordered).
The Steam Deck has been postponed
Valve announced that the launch of the Steam Deck has been postponed for two months. The first units of the portable console will now be shipped starting next February 2022. The cause of the delays is linked to the lack of material for production. The delay in the delivery of components, a phenomenon now widespread in the tech world, has forced Valve to cancel the previous plans. The console will not be ready by the end of 2021.
Delays also for new orders
Those who have not pre-ordered have the opportunity to book a new Steam Deck from the official store. At the moment, however, the first deliveries are scheduled for “dfter Q2 2022“. Consequently, by pre-ordering the console now, the actual delivery could arrive only starting from the second half of next year.
Recall that the Steam Deck is available with prices from 419 euros. However, the entry level version has just 64 GB of eMMC storage. Much more interesting is the version with 256 GB NVMe SSD available for 549 euros. The top of the range, with 512 GB NVMe SSD, is available for 679 euros.
