Apple points to an expected release date of AirPods Pro 2 in the third quarter of 2022, according to sources in the Apple supply chain. The new generation of top-of-the-range earphones could therefore arrive along with the next iPhone, although the date is not yet certain.
AirPods Pro 2, expected release date in the third quarter of 2022
There are more and more signs that Apple wants to launch the second generation of its top-of-the-line headphones next year. If this year, with the iPhone 13, the AirPods 3 arrived, next year we could see the Pro 2 debut alongside iPhone 12.
Or at least this is the analysis of two of the main insiders when it comes to Apple and beyond: Mark Gurman Bloomberg and the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Which confirm what the user has leaked @FronTron, which explained that Apple would be ready to launch the headphones in Q3 2022, then from 1st July to 30th September. And considering the announcements of the Apple’s last years, it is expected that it may be in the middle of summer or simultaneously with the new iPhone in September.
Gurman further explained that Apple wants eliminate the ‘stem’ of the Pro, giving a more rounded shape to the product. Which could reduce the space for the case that doubles as a charger. But the risk is that the space is too small for all the hardware that Apple wants to put in its headphones: the plan could be discarded, says Gurman himself. And other analysts have received conflicting information on this point. It seems that the technology to be included is simply too much, without that extra space.
In fact, the earphones should have, in addition to all the advantages of the first generation, also a new sensor of movement for fitness. Also, one appears to be ready custodia MagSafe for charging.
For the moment, the details are still few, both on design and functionality. We will keep you informed for any news. But let’s expect to officially see the official models in less than a year.
