In the last period, Ducati has included several models of its most renowned motorcycle family in the list, and this time it is the turn of the Streetfighter series with the launch of the new V2. This newcomer is a sports naked bike that fully relies on the Panigale V2 in terms of technology. The Streetfighter V2 has been stripped of the fairing that distinguishes the Panigale, and is equipped with a tall and wide aluminum handlebar. To Streetfighter V2 the four wings that the V4 has are missing , but who wants them can buy them from the accessories list. The dry weight of this model is 178 kilograms (without liquids).

The innovations brought by the Borgo Panigale house to its new Streetfighter V2 begin with a wider seat and new padding that contributes to even greater comfort when getting on this bike. In addition, the footboards have been moved to increase space. All these improvements are designed to offer the motorcyclist a lot of control during sporty riding and at the same time facilitate the use of the motorcycle in daily commuting.

The Streetfighter V2’s engine is the Superquadro Euro 5 da 955 cc, capable of a maximum power of 153 hp at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 101.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm. Compared to the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 model has a shorter final drive (15/45 vs 15/43). This figure guarantees greater torque to the wheel and, at the same time, improves the response of the engine when the throttle is reopened.

V2, Ducati’s Streetfighter for “everyone”

During the development of this new model, Ducati engineers concentrated on fine-tuning the chassis. The Superquadro engine is in fact used as a load-bearing element to connect the compact front structure, consisting of a monocoque frame in cast aluminum fixed to the engine head. The single-sided swingarm, also connected to the engine, is 16 mm longer than that of the Panigale V2, an important intervention that contributes to the stability of the bike.

Apart from the use of brake pads characterized by a less aggressive grip, more suitable for road use, the entire braking system has been faithfully taken from the Panigale V2 and equipped with Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial calipers with 320 mm discs. diameter.

The large and modern electronic compartment of the Streetfighter V2 also derives from the Panigale V2. The 6-axis IMU inertial platform manages all the electronic controls of the bike and transmits information in real time to the control units that manage the controls. The electronic package includes: ABS Cornering EVO with “slide by brake” function, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC ) EVO.
