Darby McDevitt, historical director of Ubisoft, will return to be part of the team working on Assassin’s Creed Infinity
Ubisoft is seeing various changes within it: starting from the most recent abandonment of one of the cornerstones of the Far Cry saga, the now ex executive producer Dan Hay, we should also remember the various accusations of discrimination and harassment reported by some employees, who they led at the exit of other important figures, like Michel Ansel, or even Asgraf Ismail, director of Black Flag, Origins and Valhalla. The new Assassin’s Creed, called “Infinity”, will renew the saga in many aspects; nevertheless, the return of Darby McDevitt, historical director of the series will mark one nostalgic breath of air for longtime fans.

Speaking of the characteristics that we will be able to observe in Assassin’s Creed Infinity, it is reported through various rumors how could it be a title without the open-world that has characterized the series for some time now. In addition, Ubisoft CEO Guillemot long ago ruled out the possibility that he saw it as a free-to-play game. This new chapter will be very large, it will contain numerous narrative elements and will aim to be innovative, while having everything that Assassin’s Creed players have always seen and loved in previous chapters, from the very beginning.

Prior to Assassin’s Creed Infinity, McDevitt had a prominent role in the writing of the historic Assassin’s Creed Revelations e Black Flag, as well as being the author of the story and dialogue of Assassin’s Creed Unity. In announcing his return to Ubisoft, after leaving the company and joining Illogika to create an as yet unknown title, McDevitt confirm the news saying he reflected on his career during the adventure that began last year. The return he was able to get in the development house it’s part of his journey, and says he is delighted and thrilled to find himself working on Assassin’s Creed again.
