According to what was revealed by an insider, Capcom may have news on the Monster Hunter franchise in store for the The Game Awards.
Monster Hunter: news coming to the Game Awards?
The insider to have spread the news is the well-known Samus Hunter, who explained on Twitter that Capcom would have ready some important announcements about the Monster Hunter series that will most likely be presented during The Game Awards in December. According to what was declared by the leaker, it would be news that the software house has been keeping in store for a fair amount of time.
Of course we advise you to take this information with a grain of salt, since it is about an unofficial source, but it must be said that the leaker in question has already guessed several pieces of information in the past, so there is a good chance that the information is true.
Regarding the nature of Capcom’s announcement, there are mainly two possibilities: the most likely is that the studio will provide an update on Sunbreak, the expansion that will introduce the Master Rank in Monster Hunter Rise and is expected to arrive this summer. It is plausible to imagine that Capcom will update us on the contents of the expansion, perhaps also revealing the precise release date.
The least likely option is that the software house will announce the next numbered chapter of Monster Hunter, that is Monster Hunter 6, which should already be in development at the studios of the Osaka house. Previous leaks had indicated 2023 as a possible launch window for this next gen MH, so the time may be ripe for a small teaser on the game.
There is also the faintest chance that Capcom will pick up post-launch support for Rise when the game is released on PC, but given the direction the development team has taken, this is unlikely to happen.
