New details are leaking regarding The Wolf Among Us 2 and the possible twist that history will take in this new game
The development studio Telltale Games, born from former members of LucasArts, has presented itself as one of the main authors of the rebirth of graphic adventures, debuting with the famous Sam & Max, and Tales of Monkey Island. Over the years, other games in “episodic” format have also been launched, and with The Walking Dead series the company seemed to have reached the pinnacle of success in the genre it aspired to. But something went wrong in the following years, and due to several complications, as well the huge number of projects it was working on for years and the growing reduction in sales, the firm found itself having to file for bankruptcy in 2018. However, only a year later it was “brought back to life” under the LCG Entertainment, and in the same 2019 Telltale announced the sequel to one of the most loved IPs by fans, The Wolf Among Us 2, without revealing too many details about the story, at least until today.
The first details on the history of The Wolf Among Us 2
All gamers knew about The Wolf Among Us 2 is that its making had actually been restarted once before, however, adding to the unfinished works after the closure of Telltale Games. The new development of the game was then re-announced at The Game Awards, and the only news we had about it was from the CEO of LCG Entertainment, who had revealed how the title would have used Unreal Engine 4 instead of the one originally used by Telltale. Some time later it was also confirmed an intact release of the game, and no longer episodic as it has been so far. The team then promised to give more information at the beginning of 2022, but it seems that Game Informer has already wanted to anticipate some details about the story that will be addressed in The Wolf among Us 2.

Apparently, the new season will be set as always in dark and dangerous New York, six months after the events of the original game and therefore during the winter that will dominate the entire city with its presence. It seems that the production is now in full swing, and the script would have reached a finalization point. Meanwhile, motion-capture sessions are also carried out, which reveals how in reality it will still take several months before you can see anything concrete. As mentioned earlier, Telltale plans to provide more in-depth details once we enter the next year, so we just have to wait until then.
