The possibility of taking advantage of a contactless, fast and safe alternative, even from a hygienic point of view, for Christmas purchases, is now indispensable for many and that is why Garmin has integrated the Garmin Pay option into its latest generation wearable tools with which you can make payments directly from your Garmin wearable device. To meet the needs of a constantly growing number of users, Garmin Pay is enriched with increasingly important partnerships and announces that from today also the owners of Banco BPM and WeBank debit and prepaid cards will be able to make payments directly from their Garmin wearable device compatible with Garmin Pay.
Garmin wearables are an integral part of the daily life of many users and the Garmin Pay contactless payment system gives them the opportunity to exploit its potential to finalize their purchases: payments that guarantee greater speed, avoiding physical contact with POS and NFC readers and allowing you to skip queues and long waits at the ticket offices. Garmin Pay: pay securely with your Garmin smartwatch
To use Garmin Pay it is necessary to operate from the Wallet in the Control menu of your Garmin smartwatch or sportwatch and associate a credit card registered through the Garmin Connect Mobile app. For the first operation of the day, the user will be asked to enter a passcode, pre-set in the Garmin Connect app when registering your credit card. For subsequent ones, a payment can be made immediately using the last card used. It will be possible to register more than one card so that the user can choose which one to use. Once the payment is completed, a green check mark will appear on the smartwatch display if the transaction is successful; otherwise, a red X symbol will appear.
The latter will also appear if the Garmin fails to “hook up” to a POS device within 60 seconds of opening the Wallet. In this case the NFC functionality is disabled for security reasons and the user will be returned to the default clock screen in the time dial. Finally, thanks to the accelerometer built into Garmin wearables compatible with Garmin Pay, every time you take the watch off your wrist or turn off the Elevate cardio function, the payment function is blocked automatically, allowing the use after re-entering the passcode: the latter will also be requested by default after every midnight, in order to ensure that it is the cardholder who uses the service.
