Bosch will also participate in CES 2022 to show the world the latest advances in technology that will one day be part of our daily lives to improve our lives
Technology for all situations: at CES in Las Vegas (January 4-8, 2022), Bosch will showcase connected, smart and sustainable products and services for a better life, at home and on the go.
CES Innovation Awards: Smart Connected Biking solution awarded
The Smart Connected Biking solution from divisione Bosch eBike Systems received the CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree in the “Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation” category. The CES Innovation Awards are awarded by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).
The new generation of systems from Bosch eBike Systems combines the physical experience of riding an e-bike with the digital experience provided by connectivity and an app. This intelligent system includes the new eBike Flow app, a LED user interface, a color display, a rechargeable battery and a drive unit. Over-the-air updates allow for constant improvement of services. The eBike Flow app opens up a host of new digital features for e-bikes, such as automatic activity tracking and personalized riding modes.
A Bosch must
The mobility of the future will be autonomous, connected, electrified and personalized. In the future, more and more vehicles will be electrically powered. They will increasingly connect with other road users and their surroundings and offer customized cloud-based services, such as driving in the wrong direction or road condition updates. The show car shows Bosch’s experience in technological solutions and extensive know-how in software and hardware. For instance, Bosch is developing central computers for the electronic architecture of the future. These control units will be used for assisted and autonomous driving, advanced driving functions, as well as multimedia ones. Over-the-air updates will keep the car’s functions constantly updated.
Virtual viewer
Transparent digital sun visor: Conventional sun visors protect drivers from glare. However, they often obstruct much of the field of view. Bosch solves this problem with a new transparent LCD display. The virtual visor is connected to the internal monitoring camera, which detects the position of the driver’s eyes. Using intelligent algorithms based on artificial intelligence, the virtual sun visor evaluates this information and it only darkens the area of the display where the sun or other light sources would blind the driver. The rest remains transparent, leaving a clear view of the road.
SoundSee – intelligent hearing for the ISS
Though barely bigger than a lunch box, Bosch’s SoundSee is equipped with the latest artificial intelligence (AI). SoundSee is located on the ISS (International Space Station). Installed aboard NASA’s autonomous flying robot Astrobee, SoundSee’s built-in microphones record ambient noise in space. Using artificial intelligence, Bosch technology analyzes audio data to detect potential anomalies and identify areas that require maintenance. SoundSee was developed together with Astrobotic as part of a NASA research collaboration.
Software-based solutions for the mobility of today and tomorrow from Bosch
Software is playing an increasingly central role in vehicle development. After all, future connectivity, automation and customization functions will be more software-defined than ever. Bosch annually installs over 200 million electronic control units with its own software in vehicles around the world. To achieve this, the company can draw on in-depth software, electronic and system expertise and use them to develop application-specific vehicle software and hardware to match automotive applications of all kinds, from driver assistance to infotainment. Bosch takes further strategic steps towards a leadership position in the software-dominated future of mobility. In the future, the company will develop and sell basic vehicle software, middleware and cloud services, through the sister company ETAS.
Advanced Driving Module – pre-integrated components for electric cars
With the’Advanced Driving Module (ADM), Bosch is reducing the complexity in developing electric cars and thereby increasing efficiency for automakers. ADM combines the individual powertrain, brake and steering systems into a harmonized network that manufacturers can integrate into the vehicle more quickly and economically. In addition, simplified interfaces and a uniform software architecture ensure optimized communication between components and form the basis for new functionality.
Technician Process Assistant (TPA) – a digital all-rounder
The TPA Technical Process Assistant is part of a connected aftermarket ecosystem where people and machines exchange data as needed to efficiently repair and maintain vehicles. The continuously learning and evolving system is a hands-free, platform-independent solution that works with tablets, PCs and wearables. With the help of the AI, moreover, it was created a knowledge base using traditional service information. If additional skills are required, a connection can be established between an expert and the “eyes and ears” of the technician working on the vehicle. This helps to improve accuracy and efficiency during maintenance and repair of vehicles, which are increasingly complex today.
Nevonex – connected agriculture
Agriculture is currently facing the challenge of ensuring food production in the face of climate change. Nevonex supports farmers with the necessary specialist knowledge in the form of digital services. Services provided by third party suppliers can be used on agricultural machinery through Nevonex, regardless of the manufacturer. They are used to automate machine settings and to optimize agricultural farming processes. Bosch is investigating how cultivation process data can be recorded and used as information for the next steps in the process. The goal is to use edge computing to bring artificial intelligence-based services to agriculture.
A breath of fresh air – Bosch solution for better air quality
To improve air quality in cities, airports, train stations and commercial areas, Bosch offers innovative solutions that accurately record and simulate emissions. Bosch air quality monitors provide accurate readings for nitrogen oxides, particulates, humidity and temperature, in other words, important information for measuring the air quality in a given place. The data is then transferred to the cloud and evaluated. Knowing exactly which pollutants are in the air, where they are and where they are spreading allows you to quickly take countermeasures, for better air at all times.
Bosch solutions for the home
Smart heating and air conditioning
The highly efficient Climate 5000 3.0 split air conditioner offers high heating and cooling performance thanks to the latest inverter technology.
