Huawei announced the global release date of the phones Huawei P50 Pocket e P50 Pro. Both smartphones will be released worldwide on January 12, as announced by the company via social media. So let’s take a closer look at these two devices, trying to understand what their strengths are and why having them even outside of China is good news.
Huawei P50 Pocket and P50 Pro: release date confirmed
The Huawei P50 Pocket is the company’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3, against which it competes directly. The device was announced in China in late December, so we didn’t even wait long for it to hit more markets. That said, the Huawei P50 Pro has a different story. This phone was launched in China at the end of July last year, and we have been waiting for a long time for it to come out of China’s borders.
Both of these phones are expected to be high-end, albeit quite different. Huawei P50 Pocket is in fact a clamshell folding, while Huawei P50 Pro is a normal smartphone, at least as regards its form factor. It is very likely that their global models are identical in terms of specifications compared to the Chinese variants, if not nearly identical.
Both devices are equipped with the Snapdragon 888 SoC and are equipped with a lot of RAM. There are 8GB and 12GB RAM variants available in China but it is still unclear whether it will be the same for the international version.
The Huawei P50 Pocket includes a 6.9-inch fullHD + main display with a 120Hz refresh rate, complete with a 1.04-inch secondary display. The P50 Pro, on the other hand, sports a 6.6-inch fullHD + main display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. All of these displays are OLED panels.
