As it turns out, Google is getting closer and closer to launching its own foldable device. It should be called Pixel Notepad and may cost less than other foldable smartphones.
Google works on its foldable Pixel: here’s what we know
After several rumors that spoke of an announcement, and as many of denial, there are now optimistic rumors about the new Google Pixel foldable. A new report from 9to5Google claims that the alleged device could be launched by the end of 2022. There is also a hypothetical name, which however could be subject to changes in the coming months: Pixel Notepad. The smartphone, according to the rumors reported by the portal, it could cost even less than the exorbitant prices of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, foldable Samsung released last year. The report did not indicate a specific price, so even if this will be lower than the $ 1,799 expected for the foldable Samsung, that does not mean that the cost will necessarily be low.
From a technical specification point of view, however, we know very little. For now 9to5Google reports that the device should be powered by the new proprietary chips Tensor (which already power Pixel 6 phones). Additionally, some illustrations found in a recent beta build of Android 12 suggest that the fold may have an aspect ratio of 7: 8, so almost a square.
