“Concordia: the last journey” is coming up Disney+. From the next January 12, 2022 we will be able to witness this accurate and important work carried out by National Geographic Channel.
The chapter of the subject in question might seem not exactly pleasant, considering that one does not remember a particularly joyful historical moment. At the same time, however, this elegant documentary has one in itself poetic awareness in the narrative which is worth following.
It offers the viewer a time to remember events and at the same time, to convey knowledge and details of a real tragic episode that will remain in history.
From a technological point of view, we are witnessing a computer graphics work really refined. Huge practical, organizational and filming efforts, too, are concentrated and told in this own documentary thanks to technology and to the great avant-garde instruments.
What Concordia tells: the last journey
The last voyage of the ship, for National Geographic, was intended as the sometimes “adventurous” realization of the recovery from the sea and the lifting of the Costa Concordia. After the colossal ship collided on the rocks and capsized in the waters of the Giglio Island, unfortunately for a long time it was forced motionless near the point of the crash.
The documentary is absolutely interesting to witness the moment of its recovery. More than 800 million dollars have been spent and so many people have worked to this very important rescue. We will retrace many salient moments thanks to an instant doc that will capture all the passages. Definitely interesting will be the unique point of view of the team of engineers and designers who worked hard to make the wreck float again.
After “Concordia: I was there”, A documentary made by the same channel in 2012, which collected passenger testimonials, crew members and rescuers during the tragedy, the new work National Geographic puts us in contact with an important moment of greeting.
