What’s new for the beta version of WhatsApp: this week three functions have been added to the version of the application dedicated to beta tester, which will surely find themselves quite busy in the next few days. The changes concern how to contact support, voice notes and some emojis, but let’s go in order by discovering them one by one.
WhatsApp Beta: a week of news
WhatsApp, as we anticipated at the beginning, has enabled three new features this week, here are the specific ones:
- The possibility of contact WhatsApp support directly from the app: This feature had already been enabled in the past but, for unknown reasons, WhatsApp has stopped providing support within the app. Now this possibility has been made available again for people using the most up-to-date version of the application.
- A function for animate heart emojis It was implemented for beta testers on iOS operating systems: all heart emojis are now animated, not just the red heart one.
- The possibility of pause and resume voice recordings is finally available on WhatsApp Desktop beta, and this is one of the best news we could get about the messaging app. The feature is already enabled on iOS, but it is currently unclear when it will also arrive on Android systems. It will probably not be long before these operating systems also appear.
WhatsApp has also introduced some other new features, which however at this time are still under development and therefore not available to all testers:
- A feature for migrate chat history from Android to iOS: The Move to iOS app is required to transfer your messages and media files when the feature is officially released on a later date.
- WhatsApp is working on minor changes to the user interface during voice calls, which for example will support wallpapers.
- The ability to manage two-step verification is under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta, which will give you more control over this feature should we have any kind of problem during the recovery process.
