GTA 5 and GTA Online are coming to next-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X | S – here’s what you need to know.
From March 15th GTA 5 and GTA Online will be available for next-gen consoles
Only a few days to go: Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online will arrive for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S on March 15th. The whole story adventure and the evolving world of GTA Online land on next-gen consoles with a host of improvements for players. Let’s start by saying that the new versions introduce new graphics modes and resolution up to 4K with a frame rate up to 60 fps. Also improved texture quality and HDR and ray-tracing options. Optimized loading times as well as gameplay that will make the most of the audio that the new platforms can offer.
Players playing History will be able to choose between three new graphics settings. In particular the Loyalty mode is optimized for maximum visual quality at 30 fps. In this mode PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support native 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled, while Xbox Series S supports 4K augmented resolution. There Performance mode instead it is optimized for the most responsive gaming experience at 60 FPS. In this mode PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support increased 4K resolution while Xbox Series S supports 1080p resolution. Additionally, PS5 and Series X will support the mode Performance RT. The latter is a hybrid of Fidelity and Performance modes, with an increased 4K resolution and ray tracing enabled at 60 FPS.
In addition to this, other improvements of GTA 5 will be:
- more NPCs and variety of traffic
- higher density of vegetation and road surface
- better quality of lighting through shadows
- improved water reflections
- anti-aliasing
- motion blur
- optimization of explosions and shots
- audio 3D
GTA Online: ecco eats changes Los Santos
This new generation of GTA Online will introduce a range of new vehicles and a new addition to Los Santos Car Meet: Hao’s Special Works. These are vehicle upgrades, a new class of races and weekly time trials. New players – however those who want to start from scratch – will get special welcome bonuses. Among the novelties we also point out a new tutorial and an improved and more immediate main menu.
PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to transfer their progress from both Story Mode (immediately) and Online (March 15) to the new consoles. In the first case, just upload the save to the Rockstar Games Social Club. To do this, you will need to log into GTA 5 with your console account and select Upload from the Pause menu. Please note that only one save can be loaded, and it will be available for download on the new console for no more than 90 days.
The same operation can be performed for GTA Online from March 15th, the day on which the official release of the next-gen games will take place.
