Suzuki renews its Vitara compact SUV with a Hybrid model 1.5 140Vfrom which it takes its name, thanks to the introduction of the brand new 1.5 140V hybrid engine, which joins the 1.4 48V one already in production.
The engine 1.5 DualJet K15C is a new four-cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle with a displacement of 1,462 cm3. and a 13: 1 compression ratio. The total power of the petrol engine is 75kW (102hp), while the total system power, in combination with the electric motor generator, reaches 84 kW (115hp). The engine is combined with the new hybrid module which consists of two main elements: a 140V battery e un motogeneratore da 24,6 kW. The battery has a total capacity of 840Wh and is housed together with all its subsystems in the double bottom of the trunk, thus maintaining its volume unchanged.
Add to this the new AGS (Automatic Gear Shift) robotised gearbox with sequential function it is positioned between the clutch and the electric motor generator. The electric unit takes care of making the changes from one gear to another, whether automatic or manual, fluid by modulating the clutch independently.
The motor generator (MGU – Motor Generator Unit), connected by means of the reducer to a shaft parallel to the primary shaft of the gearbox, guarantees traction to the car both independently and in combination with the thermal engine, delivering up to at 24.6 kW with a torque of 152.7Nm.
When starting and maneuvering at low speed, i.e. when the combustion engine would be less efficient and would consume more, the hybrid system moves the new Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140V with only electric traction. With the battery fully charged, in electric mode it is possible to reach 80 km / h or cover a distance up to 4.5 km. As soon as a sufficient speed is reached, the electric motor gives way to the thermal one, re-entering “play” to keep the speed in the motor load phase constant.
Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140V, there is also the all-wheel drive version
Three of the novelties of the Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140V is the driving mode ECO Fashion that optimizes consumption and maximizes efficiency. This feature favors electric drive and makes accelerator responses more gradual. It also adjusts the climate control to absorb less energy and sets any four-wheel drive to Auto.
Suzuki’s compact SUV is also available with 4WD AllGrip Select all-wheel drive. By acting on a practical command on the central tunnel, you have the possibility to select four different modes: Auto, Sport, Snow e Lock. Each of them distributes the torque between the two axles according to different logics to offer ideal traction in every situation and to guarantee maximum fun and safety, with always low fuel consumption and emissions.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140V is offered in the only rich set-up Starview, which takes its name from the presentation of the panoramic glass sunroof offered, in this case, as standard. Also standard are, among others, heated seats covered in precious material, front and rear parking sensors, “pocket lock” system, 17 “bicolor alloy wheels, 7” infotainment touch screen, with navigator, bluetooth and Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.
Like the entire Vitara Hybrid range, the latest addition is equipped with the most advanced level 2 autonomous driving and safety systems.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid 1.5 140V Starview costs 30.400 Euro (turnkey, IPT excluded) in 2WD version and of 32.900 Euro (turnkey, IPT excluded) in full 4WD version.
