Another novelty for the creators of Facebook Reels. In fact, in recent months, Meta has focused a lot on short-term video content to try to compete as much as possible with TikTok. Now, for example, the platform has introduced the new “sharing on Reels” option, which allows third-party apps to publish directly on the platform.
Facebook: Reels can also be shared by third-party apps
A new update for Facebook is coming, which allows external developers to add a “Reels button” to their App so that users can publish clips directly on the platform, taking advantage of all the editing tools of the function. Among the applications that will make this function available soon there are Smule – App notes in karaoke -, Vita e livevideo. In the coming months, however, others will certainly be added. After all, it is clear that Meta’s goal is to “push” the short content format as much as possible.
And now more than ever, given that Facebook has lost quite a few users to TikTok, Mark Zuckerberg seems willing to bet everything on Reels. Last fall, in fact, he defined the function as “important for our products, like the Stories“. In reality, incentivizing users to post original content was, in some ways, a challenge for the company. And introducing the sharing of Facebook Reels from third-party apps could help them become autonomous and independent from what they create on TikTok. A more than sensible way to outdo the competitor.
