In the past few hours, Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XVI, has divulged some interesting information on the title, as well as said that a new trailer would be coming
Recently, with the acquisition by Embracer Group of most of its Western IPs, Square Enix is going through something of a media earthquake. Its Japanese counterpart, on the other hand, is getting quite busy, especially with one of its flagship franchises: Final Fantasy. Currently, after the release of the acclaimed Stranger of Paradise, we find in production both the Part II of Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the more than fugitive Final Fantasy XVI, presented more than a year and a half ago, in September 2020, during a PlayStation 5 Showcase. Then, just some confirmation and some flying reassurance from Yoshida, one of the most loved producers of the franchise and who has raised the fortunes of the fourteenth chapter, but nothing more. Until today.
In the past few hours, in fact, Naoki Yoshida, during an official livestream on the crossover between Final Fantasy XIV and Nier Reincarnation, said that there are interesting news coming for the sixteenth chapter, including… a trailer. A trailer that would actually be finished and ready, but whose release has been postponed due to several factors, not specifying further what it refers to. However, the producer also revealed some new details on the state of play of the game… which wouldn’t be in bad shape at all!
Final Fantasy XVI: new trailer coming? But maybe!
The development team would have spent some time lately, in the definition and cleaning, as well as in the debugging, of the game, which would therefore be for the most part complete. Final Fantasy XVI would therefore be almost complete, with the story finally outlined and which, according to the words of Yoshida himself, should guarantee a fascinating and complete singleplayer experience for players. And we, after the half disappointment of Final Fantasy XV, we really hope so.
