Registrations are open to participate in the 2022 edition of the competition ‘Global Mobile Innovation & Development‘by Huawei (here for more details on the company), this edition, in turn, is divided into two different competitions, TheHuawei Global App Innovation Contest (Apps UP) e Global AI Challenge. Apps UP, now in its third edition, has received almost 10.000 candidature by as many developers. From the Together We Innovate theme, Apps UP has been giving away an award from beyond this year 1 million dollars. Launched on the occasion of Apps UP, the Global AI Challenge competition aims to bring together talents from all over the world to explore the new frontiers of artificial intelligence together.

Huawei wants to engage developers from around the world to deliver a smooth, unpleasant disruption-free AI-based experience to more and more consumers, thus enabling a truly digital future.

Apps UP it was launched simultaneously in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa and China. With the aim of better contextualizing the HMS ecosystem, new ad hoc regional awards have been established. Among them we have the Best Arabic App in the Middle East and Africa, the Best Game Innovation Award in Latin America and the “AppGallery Rising Star App in Asia Pacific.
In China, in addition to the Best App, Best Game, Best Social Impact App, All-Scenario Coverage Award and Tech Women’s Award, two new awards have been launched this year. We have the new Best Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Innovation Award to encourage the development of innovative apps with new HMS features and services. And finally, we have it Student Innovation Award to reward deserving student developers in light of their most innovative ideas and projects that enrich the AI-based experience. For the competitors of this edition there are various incentives, including some vouchers for the serverless services of AppGallery Connect.
The ‘Global AI Challenge’ competition to explore the new frontiers of AI
Competition Global AI Challenge involved numerous international experts in the field of artificial intelligence, inviting them to provide competitors with advice and mentoring. Together, they evaluated the competition’s potential proposals in terms of technical innovation, concrete value, risk estimation, popularity and difficulty, and then ultimately chose three. Knowledge-driven dialogue, intelligent inspection of the quality of the data rendering tracks and prediction of the CTR rate through cross-domain data from adv and feed.
In detail
The competition provides two distinct phases, a preliminary and a final with a smaller audience. At the end of the first, seven teams will be selected from each proposal that will enter the final phase. During the final round, a total of 21 teams will compete for different cash prizes through a contest and online presentation. Huawei’s long-term program Shining Star Program aimed at developers, it awarded $ 210,000 as a prize for the competition. The winner will receive $ 35,000, the first place winner $ 15,000 and the second place winner $ 10,000. In addition, four teams will earn an honorable mention, each of which will be awarded $ 2,500.
Huawei continues to pursue its own strategy seamless AI life, which plans to roll out HMS ecosystem support to multiple devices around the world.
