The “news that make headlines” of the Magog gazette land on Nintendo Switch: the latest trailer for Oddworld Soulstorm confirms it
After a launch on PlayStation and PC in early 2021, and an Xbox debut a few months later, Oddworld Soulstorm is also preparing to reach the hybrid shores of Nintendo Switch as the last confirms trailer of the game. The development team Oddworld Inhabitants and the publisher Microids have in fact confirmed that the film platformer is directed towards the platform of the Great N. We do not know what this unexpected port is due to, but if the discrepancy between sales data and criticism means something, probably also to give the Moolah a nudge.
A more bombshell announcement than the Soulstorm Drink: the trailer for the Switch version of Oddworld Soulstorm
The trailer below isn’t all about Oddworld Soulstorm, because the publisher has also alluded to special treatment for Nintendo Switch owners. The game intends to bring an experience “optimized to take advantage of the unique features of the console”, but not much else is known about it. We don’t have a release date, but we can already tell you what to expect. Unlike many other remakes, in fact, Soulstorm is what the original Abe’s Exoddus should have been in the beginning. It is no coincidence that the title bites the brake on humor, instead bringing the Semitic allegory of the Mudokon to strong parallels with the first half of the last century.
Ironically, despite the nebulous release date situation, Microids revealed that Nintendo fans will be rewarded for their wait with two special “Odd-itions” of the game. This is the Limited Oddition and of Collector’s Oddition. The first includes a copy of the game, a metal case for 24 game cards, and three prints. The second, on the other hand, also adds a box for collectors, a silver statuette of the protagonist Abe, a 160-page artbook, a keychain from the mining company, Mudokon tribal stickers, and Abe’s hand tattoo. For the moment, the game is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One e PC (Epic Games Store, Steam).
