Apple is already preparing foriPhone 14 presentation eventwhich will take place on September 7 at Apple Park in Cupertino. A launch that comes sooner than expected, with new devices that may already arrive from September 16 in the Apple Stores of all the world. And Apple seems determined to hold a second event as early as October. So here’s what we expect from the iPhone 14 event and Apple’s upcoming fall announcements.
iPhone 14, what we expect from the Apple event on September 7th
After detecting the unofficial date, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared a few more details about the event Wednesday 7 September. Starting from the chosen date: Apple usually holds its events on a Tuesday, while this time the event falls on a Wednesday. According to Gurman it depends on the fact that the Monday is Labor Day in America, a day of celebration: Apple therefore wants to give journalists and experts time to reach Cupertino after the long weekendleaving an extra day.
This suggests an event in presence, as seen for the WWDC in June. This does not mean that we will not be able follow the event also in streaming from Italy: rather, that the press can test the new iPhones for a few minutes after the presentation.
The event comes sooner than Apple has accustomed us, since it started presenting iPhones at the gates of autumn in 2011. In fact, it usually presents smartphones between the end of September and October, with the previous “record” at September 16 for iPhone 7. This time Apple launches iPhones (and Apple Watch, AirPods Pro and possibly an iPad) when it’s still summer.
This choice may depend on financial issues: one week in 2022 more sales iPhone 14 could simplify the charging you expect from 89 billion dollars in the year. This despite the problems of supply chain, problematic for Macs but less for iPhone.
Finally, it looks like Apple wants to launch a iPad Pro con chip M2 e un iPad entry-level, both with USB-C, for October. And also two between Mac mini, Mac Pro e MacBook Pro they could arrive by October. Anticipating the release of iPhones would allow us not to steal the show from these products.
