There are really a few hours left for Apple’s “Far Out” event, and the wait for the launch of the iPhone 14, Apple Watch Pro and the new AirPods is now skyrocketing. Yet, according to Mark Gurman by Bloomberg, “the improvements, for the second consecutive year, will be more modest than mind-blowing”, at least as far as the new iPhone series is concerned. Perhaps, however, the Pro models will be saved from this “sad” fate, as they will be the ones most affected by useful improvements. Let’s go and see what will amaze us.
iPhone 14 Pro: why the September 7 event will focus on the news of this model?
As Mark Gurman reports about the launch of the iPhone 14, “the most significant updates will be reserved for the Pro line and this could be a theme of the event”. And this suggests that they will be right high-end products of the company to be the protagonists of the event “Far Out” of September 7. On the other hand, they should be the ones on which Apple has focused the most work. Unlike the standard model, for example, the iPhone 14 Pro should get a chip A16 fasterl’always-on display and a 48 MP rear camera. To these innovations, as you already know, others will be added concerning the design of the smartphone, such as the notch size reduction.
“The new notch will consist of hardware cutouts for the front camera (with autofocus for the first time) – reports Mark Gurman – and improved facial recognition sensors. When the device is in use, the notch will appear as a single capsule-shaped hole “. Yet despite these changes, the Bloomberg expert doesn’t expect “the status bar at the top of the iPhone to change much”. Beyond that, it would appear that the new iPhone 14 Pro models will be slightly larger, with thinner bezels and batteries that take up more space. In addition, a much larger rear camera area is to be expected, as the entire photographic sector will be improved.
“And this time around Apple will give eSIM a bigger boost, with carriers preparing to direct users to embedded digital SIM cards rather than physical ones. In fact, Apple has been considering removing the physical SIM card slot starting this year or next for some models ”. In short, few news, but interesting. Enough to convince users of iPhone 11 or earlier to choose to permanently change their smartphone. Furthermore, according to Gurman, the new iPhone 14 will be “on sale on September 16th, about a week earlier than usual“. But Apple’s smartphone won’t be the only one to monopolize users’ attention.
On 7 September, in fact, the Cupertino company will present its first Apple Watch Pro. A super resistant smartwatch, dedicated to extreme sports enthusiasts. According to Gurman, this “will have a significantly larger display, so users can see redesigned watch faces and more fitness and health tracking stats at the same time. It will also have a larger battery, along with a low-power mode and a sturdy titanium casing. Plus, it features a completely new design that refreshes a form factor first introduced with the 4 Series in 2018 “. An offer that should appeal to the most demanding users, interested in the company’s high-end devices.
In short, it is quite clear where Apple is directing its attention. And if Gurman’s rumors were true, the “Far Out” event could really be monopolized by the iPhone 14 Pro and the Apple Watch Pro. On the other hand, it is in these products that the company’s major news are concentrated. And it is clear that Apple is keen to communicate this.
