Il popular E3 will be back in attendance for the first time in three years. There Entertainment Software Association announced the dates today: the event will be held from 13 to 16 June at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This important return suggests that in the 2023 we may also attend other events in attendance, including the WWDC at Apple.
Could WWDC 2023 be back in attendance?
The WWDC 2020 and the WWDC 2021 were held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic and continued restrictions in place in various countries. Also there WWDC 2022 was hosted online, but Apple managed to organize a small in-person event for some developers and members of the media.
WWDC 2023 could see a complete return to the format WWDC in person of 2019 and earlier. In fact, Apple has already signaled that it is ready to return to events in presence with the easing of the restrictions. The “Far Out” event in September, for example, was hosted in Steve Jobs Theater and, despite being pre-recorded, it saw the presence of a full media audience.
Il online format used in 2020 and 2021 was completely free e open to all developers in the world.
It is likely that Apple will organize some sort of WWDC in attendance next year. However we believe we may continue to see one more robust online component able to provide vital resources to all developers, even those who they cannot participate in person.
At the moment, however, these are only guesses because Apple will not announce plans for the WWDC 2023 before next year. In the event that Apple organizes a event in attendance for the next WWDC, we are confident that will announce all in due course. Doing so will give developers and attendees time to purchase tickets and book their accommodation.
