Specially recorded for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, Celestial is the new song by Ed Sheeran. For the occasion, the popular singer-songwriter collaborated with The Pokémon Companya brand of which he has always been a big fan.
“I’ve been playing the Pokémon series since I was in elementary school,” said Sheeran. “My brother and I had different versions of the games and swapped Pokémon to complete both of our Pokédexes. I also loved cards, but my passion for games was really huge. I loved all the world they created; it allowed me to distract myself when something unpleasant happened in my life or at school that I didn’t want to think about. It was a world I could take refuge in, and I never stopped playing. Even now that I’m 31, I own the same Game Boy Color as back then and play Pokémon Yellow or Pokémon Silver when traveling by plane or train on tours. It is truly an honor to be able to add a song of mine to a Pokémon video game and make such a nostalgic video. Filming it was really fantastic: I hope you enjoy it, along with the song! “
