There are those who use them to communicate within the family, those for groups of friends and those for work groups. THE groups WhatsApp they are definitely a smart and fast way to maintain connections between people. And that’s exactly why Meta’s instant messaging giant is thinking of expand the maximum number of users in group chats.
512 to 1024: WhatsApp doubles the number of people in groups
The new update, already available in beta for a few users, doubles the maximum user limit for group chats. From 512 people it is now possible to add up to 1024. Previously the limit was set at 256.
This is certainly a number that will seem exaggerated to most, especially to those who use group chats for families and groups of friends. The ability to accommodate up to 1000 people can however result particularly useful for large companies who use the service to keep their employees updated.
From this point of view, WhatsApp finds itself facing its biggest competitor: Telegram. The latter allows you to create chats by adding up to 200,000 people.
Meanwhile, just last weekend, the CEO of Telegram lashed out at WhatsApp stating: “You can use any messaging app, but stay away from WhatsApp: it has now been a surveillance tool for 13 years”
