In this review we will analyze the brand new figure of Hiei Jaganshi from “Yu of the ghosts” (Yū Yū Hakusho), made by ABYstyle Studio
Yu of ghosts (Yū Yū Hakusho) is certainly among the most popular manga created in the 90s. From the pencil of Yoshihiro Togashiin fact, we do not only remember this work but also the most famous Hunter x Hunter which certainly needs no introduction.
Although they are two different works, however, Togashi always manages to insert very particular characters, with a sadistic nature. This is precisely the case with Hiei Jaganshiof which we will analyze the figure created by ABYstyle Studio in this review!
The Packaging – Yu Review of Spectra: Hiei Figure
Let’s analyze the figure – Yu Review of Spectra: Hiei Figure
As you can see, in addition to the figures, this time, we are also given one exhibition base. It is not the classic black base that ABYstyle Studio tends to include but emulates a brick floor which, due to the incredible strength of the character, has given way. This almost transforms the statue into a diorama.
Although it is possible to display the figure on the base and which greatly enriches the aesthetics, we can also decide to place the figurine on our bookcase by itself as it will remain standing upright. If with the support it reaches a height of 15,5cmwithout measure 14.3cm.
Regarding the materials used, we have, as always, the classic PVC. The statuette and base are characterized by an opaque plastic. The only section to change is the Black Dragon Blaze that surrounds it, which is a translucent purple. The material is the same used for the lightning bolts around Midoriya’s figures, so to speak. The total weight of the statue is 127 grams with base.
Under the Magnifying Glass – Yu Review of Spectra: Hiei Figure
As you can see, Hiei’s calm but ruthless face is marked by a calm gaze and the presence of her Third Eye under the forelock. Just the lock of hair placed on the front of her is two-tone as in the original work. The jumpsuit Hiei is wearing is completely black, except for the belt and the tops of the boots, which are white. The only sections where the shades of color are present are the base and the hair that tends to lighten reaching the tips. We would have therefore preferred some more shadingperhaps on the arms.
Regarding the pose, nothing to say: it is iconic. Hiei prepares to launch the Black Dragon Blaze which, before hitting the opponent, envelops his body and right arm. Beautiful how ABYstyle Studio has developed just this component, with the Dragon’s head pointing upwards. As always, we really appreciate when the company inserts translucent plastic elements into its statues that look their best under good lighting.
Let’s sum it up
Our review of the Hiei figure, from Yu of Ghosts (Yū Yū Hakusho) ends here. This is for sure the statue made by ABYstyle Studio with the best display base that we have had the pleasure of reviewing. Removed some deficiencies on the painting side, thanks to the pose with that breathtaking Blaze, it is certainly among the best economic figures based on Yū Yū Hakusho.
