Apple Music and Mercedes-Benz to bring spatial audio into cars
that’s how OLIVER SCHUSSERvice president of Apple Music and Apple’s Beats, commented on the collaboration:
“Sound quality is incredibly important to Apple Music, which is why we are thrilled to be working with Mercedes to make Apple Music’s Spatial Audio available in automobiles for the first time. The Spatial Audio feature is revolutionizing the way artists create and fans listen to music, and it’s an experience that’s impossible to explain in words. You have to listen to it to appreciate it. Together with Mercedes, we now have even more opportunities to bring fully immersive music to our subscribers around the world ”.
Remember that spatial audio consists of a more advanced system than the canonical stereo system. Compared to the latter, which uses two sound sources (right and left), the Spatial Audio uses different speakers to “envelop” the listener. The feature is free for all Apple Music subscribersbut to use it you need a compatible audio system.
