This game (at first chatted with the code name Heron), however, stands as a real sequel to the original and, as the tweet below states, boasts the collaboration of 505 Games in terms of development and distribution. The confirmed platforms, as you may have guessed from the title, are PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and naturally, PS5. The designated graphics engine is the Northlight the Remedy.

Already from the announcement, we have the official confirmation of how much Remedy intends to raise the bar for Control 2. The initial budget will be 50 million of cucuzze, with the IP ownership still in the hands of the original owner. The division will be for marketing investments, development and support after launch. The publication of the game will be managed by Remedy on PC, while the next-gen consoles will be the territory of 505 Games. The managing directors Rami and Raffi Galante said they were “thrilled to deepen their collaboration with Remedy and continue the story of this success together.”

Moving on, the vertices of Digital Bros Group remind us that the original “has sold over three million things, and is the biggest investment ever for 505 Games.” The conclusion sees Galantas “grateful to the entire community that made Control such a beloved and enduring game, which further excites us for the sequel.” Among other projects, Remedy is also managing a free-to-play multiplayer title in collaboration with Tencent, Vanguard. As for the multiplayer PvE spin-off, it still remains jealously guarded under the codename Condor. Finally, there remains the unknown of Alan Wake 2 for next year, which Control 2 is not expected to affect.
