One of the world’s largest retailers Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. will partner Taiwanese chip maker MediaTek Inc. to develop new technologies for the Internet of Things. The two struck a deal at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Taiwan’s Technews reported today. Under the agreement, the duo will develop the IOT Connect, a Bluetooth-based open connectivity protocol for the Internet of Things, which they hope will become a unified standard.
MediaTek has renewed its range of SoCs with the debut of the new one Pentonic 1000. It is a SoC designed for high-end TVs which will guarantee significant benefits to the models arriving on the market in the near future. Here are all the details:
MediaTek unveils the Pentonic 1000 TV SoC
MediaTek’s new Pentonic 1000 SoC will debut on the market shortly. The first TV models that use this SoC, in fact, are expected to debut in the course of 2023. According to what has been revealed by MediaTek, the new SoC can count on a CPU ARM Quad-Core Cortex A73 a 2 GHz e una GPU Dual Core ARM Mali G57 MC2. Also noteworthy is the support to a maximum of quattro porte HDMI 2.1 a 48 Gbps. Among the specifications of the SoC is support for Wi-Fi 6 / 6E.

The first TVs equipped with the new Pentonic 1000 will arrive on the market, as confirmed by MediaTek, during the first quarter of 2023.
