The industry must come together to do this for everyone’s benefit. We are excited to facilitate this open collaboration between leading technology companies to develop high-quality open map data that will enable untold innovations that benefit people, businesses and communities.”
Overture Maps Foundation aims to create a dataset to make it easier for developers to create applications that require map data. The first dataset will debut sometime in 2023 but the project includes a long development plan to achieve high reliability over the next few years.
