The fight against spam calls also goes on Google Voice. The company announced today that it will signal with the classic alert “suspected spam number” in case of unwanted calls. A function that is already active for classic calls on Android operating systems, but which now also extends to the Voice app.
Once you receive a spam call it will also be possible confirm the true nature of the callso as to direct the work of the algorithm and delist the number from the list of unwanted ones.
When is the spam filter coming to Google Voice?
For now, Google’s announced spam alerts for Google Voice are expected to roll out within two weeks. We can therefore expect to see operational functionality by 13 January 2023.
The latest models of Google Pixel smartphones have introduced several interesting features to fight spam. Among these also the possibility of allowing Google Assistant to manage the phone call with a series of pre-set answers. At the moment though, reports The Verge, “the company is unlikely to put a flagship feature like that on a service that many people use for free”.
Meanwhile Google will bring to market the Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Fold in 2023. In the pipeline, always for the new year, there is also the Pixel Tablet.
