Girl, the first film by Lukas Dhont, is available for free streaming on MioCinema
On the occasion of the theatrical release of Close starting from January 4th, MioCinema is offering its audience the opportunity to see Lukas Dhont Girl’s first film in streaming and for free. Girl is available for free for one week, from December 30th to January 4th.
The feature debut behind the camera from the acclaimed Belgian director was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. On this occasion, Girl was awarded the Caméra d’or for best first film, the Fipresci, the Queer palm, as well as the award for best male interpretation in the section In some perspective to Victor Polster. The film received numerous international awards including the Best Revelation award at the European Film Awards.

A story of formation, growth and integration, the film is inspired by a true story and deals with the delicate issue of gender identification, sexual orientation and the consequent self-acceptance in comparison with others.
With his debut film Lukas Dhont embarks on a discourse that continues with his second film, Close, presented at the last Cannes Film Festival where it won the Grand Prix of the Jury and Golden Globe and Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film. Again a story of teenagers is presented in search of their place in the society around them.
Close will arrive in Italian cinemas from January 4th.
