There are relatively few but very high quality home video releases for January 2023 distributed by Eagle Pictures. As early as mid-month some new titles will indeed be available in DVD and Blue Ray formats. Let’s find out which ones.
Everything Everywhere All At Once
Starting January 18, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and in a numbered 4K limited edition also containing a collector’s card and film poster. The film also marks the legendary comeback after 40 years Ke Huy Quan, interpreter of the beloved characters Data (The Goonies) and Short Round (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), here grappling with a very original vision of the multiverse. The film cleverly mixes the most diverse genres, such as kung fu, melodrama and fantasy and comedy, in an action-packed story and cinematic references that has enjoyed considerable success at the box office. Starring Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh), who runs a small laundromat, has a teenage daughter who no longer understands, a dazed father and a fruit marriage. A routine tax audit unexpectedly becomes the door through which Evelyn is drawn into an enthralling and colorful adventure in the most innovative and entertaining multiverse ever seen in cinemas.
Dante | The Home Video news of January 2023
DANTE, the acclaimed portrait of the Supreme Poet directed by Pupi Avati, available in DVD and Blu-Ray versions. Maestro Pupi Avati restores the extreme humanity of the greatest poet Italy has ever known, thanks also to a first-rate cast and scenography capable of immersing us in the atmosphere of the time. Dante died in exile in Ravenna in 1321. Almost thirty years later, Giovanni Boccaccio (Sergio Castellitto) is instructed to bring, as symbolic compensation, ten gold florins to his daughter Sister Beatrice, in a monastery in Ravenna. Retracing a part of Dante’s journey from Florence to Ravenna and stopping in his own places, Boccaccio reconstructs the human story of the great poet, until he becomes its narrator.
The talent of Mr Crocodile
Starting January 25, THE TALENT OF MR CROCODILE by Josh Gordon and Will Speck will be available, always available thanks to Eagle Pictures on DVD and Blu-Ray with unmissable film stickers inside. The directors, already authors of the cult Blades of Glory – Two skates for glory, bring to the big screen the sweet crocodile Lyle, created in 1942 by the pen of Bernard Waber, in a film for the whole family that warms the heart. When the Primm family (Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy, Winslow Fegley) moves to New York, young son Josh struggles to adjust to the new school. Everything changes when he discovers Lyle, a singing crocodile who lives clandestinely in the attic of his new house. The two become fast friends, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman), the Primms must team up with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti (Javier Bardem), to show the world that you can find a family even in the most unexpected situations.

AMSTERDAM released on DVD and Blu-Ray still arriving from January 25th. Crime movie written and directed by David O.Russell (The fighter, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, Joy), the film starring the stars Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek e Robert De Niroas well as a cameo from the singer Taylor Swift. The director pays homage to a cinematic technique of the first and last Tarantino, while the post-production is carried out by Christopher Nolan. At the center of the plot are the events of three friends who, in 1930, witness a murder. When they become prime suspects themselves, the trio begin searching for answers, uncovering one of the most startling conspiracies in American history.
